Handmaidens

 <modified>2007-11-27T19:53+00:00

In the struggle for business strategy alignment. I accept we have a compatriot in if you can accept it marketing. After all we in IT have much in common with marketing.
Certainly longer in the tooth and possessing a meaner impel than the young colt known as the enterprise architect the brand strategists and their henchmen a k a the brand guard undergo a fearsome history in the annals of corporate history. Marketing has been known to cut a swath of terror in cut and burn blitzkriegs across and through business units who dare defy the mark standards. For all our wailing over renegade IT outside of IT marketing departments undergo long lived with renegade marketing outside of marketing.
I actually undergo more sympathy for brand architects than I do enterprise architects. At least enterprise architects can unleash a stream of acronyms that can cut through the minds of all around who disappoint to understand what the heck the enterprise architect is blathering on about. Marketers and brand strategies tend to use terms that are more approachable and are certainly not as esoteric as technology jargon. And this is their express. Everyone even IT folk believes that they too can do marketing. After all marketing is simple isn’t it? Why my cousin does a wonderful job marketing his eBay business online. Sure he can help us.
Marketers undergo a harder measure preventing amateur hour – and at any aim in the tighten. The marketing sound show has even crept into the CEO quarters. Just construe any business magazine.
But we share a deeper connection with marketing. While many of us prefer to pontificate on the more subtle abstract and strategic notions that we like to believe ought to govern the known universe the reality is that most of everyday bring home the bacon life involves far more mundane interactions.
Like marketers we get asked to change the location of visual elements on a summon change the order in which things occur on the screen alter colors words pictures and rich media. In short we spend a fair bit of measure rearranging their virtual furniture to provide for their creature comforts. Many of these rearrangements are arbitrary with no alter linkage to the gilded strategic theories those in the executive suite concocted. But these rearrangements are critical for adoption of what we build.
Some forms of technology are pervasive and ubiquitous. Users be in these interfaces daily. As much as they can and do charge about a head a desk the location of a door the alter of their walls the temperature and the believe they are doubly likely to do the same for interfaces. I don’t blame them. I often charge too.
What prevents us from requesting changing a wall a head a desk a window or a location of a door is that all of us can easily see the cost and effort and disruption that is necessary to alter the dress. In IT we often say “Oh no problem. It ordain just act a few minutes.” And typically it does only take a few minutes with minimal disruption to the user. If we do this abstain and thoroughly enough around critical interfaces we even furnish it a name – agile methodologies – in which we tell through functionality until it is deemed change by reversal by those who use it beat. We deliberately put ourselves into the service of others perhaps even being subservient. This can be noble. But along the way a design pattern of human behavior emerges. An unintended consequence if you ordain results.
Because we can so aptly provide for the creature comforts of the virtual world and because in the day-to-day world these types of conversations between IT and the business tend to dominate over so-called strategic conversations we can get mistaken for handmaidens.
“Strategy be damned! Just move the widget a few pixels to the left and when you get a chance fill my coffee again pretty please.”

His interest in denialism concerns the use of rhetorical tactics by various industries in dumbing down policy debates. He is the author of
The Southeast is having serious wet shortages. Just be at Lake Lanier the main wet obtain for Atlanta.
So what do you do when you live in Palm Beach. FL there is a water shortage fines for washing your car or watering your lawn object during specified hours and serious enforcement efforts in place? The Journal's Robert stamp :
…According to the rules residents who put in "new landscaping" can water three days a week instead of the usual one for 30 days after the planting. Once that period ends homeowners can lay yet again -- and resume the thrice-a-week watering. That has led some Palm Beachers to put in new trees shrubs and turf -- often at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars per residence -- just so they can run their irrigation systems more frequently.
One resident who asked not to be named said he returned to touch land after the summer and found that he had the only cook lawn on the block. "When I asked everyone how they were watering they all said 'new plantings,' " he said. "So that's the loophole. We're all just ripping out the old lawn and shrubs and putting in new ones."
Now if that doesn't irritate you analyse this out—under Florida's rules in Palm Beach if you use a lot of wet you just pay a surcharge. So anticipate what the fabulously rich do? Use all the wet they be and pay a surchage:
Consider Nelson Peltz. The investor and food magnate's oceanfront estate called Montsorrel is among the island's biggest wet consumers. His 13.8-acre spread which combines two properties used not quite 21 million gallons of water over the past 12 months -- or about 57,000 gallons a day on add up -- at a cost of more than $50,000 according to records obtained from the local water utility. That compares with 54,000 gallons a year for an average single-family residence in Palm Beach says Ken Rearden assistant city administrator of West Palm Beach. (West Palm land supplies touch Beach's water.)
Yes an average home uses $54,00 gallons a year. Compare that to some touch Beach mansion owners:
Some touch land estates use huge amounts of wet despite the city's restrictions. Chart shows gallons consumed in the 12 months ended Oct. 1. 2007.

Internet Telephony Expo Recap - And SIP Trunking has Arrived!

I'm back from Internet Telephony Expo and thought I'd resume the show and furnish my observations. First the show was very come up attended especially the first day. A picture or in this case a video is worth a thousand words so check out the jam packed exhibit hall on Day 1. (move to compete)If you be to analyse out some other video footage from IT Expo go. Ok so now my observations. First and foremost. SIP trunking and hosted VoIP were two of the
topics at the show. In addition to exhibitors promoting SIP trunking and hosted VoIP solutions. I attended and moderated a few conference sessions and my observation was that the ones discussing SIP trunking and/or hosted VoIP were some of the best attended conference sessions. When I moderated the IP communicate bear on Shootout session. I asked the panelists if they thought SIP trunking was here today or if label centers were still waiting to deploy SIP trunking due to VoIP QoS concerns. After all in the label center five 9s of telecommunicate reliability is even more critical. The response? Aspect Software's Thomas Chamberlain. Interactive Intelligence's fasten Herrington and Nortel's Mark Morell all unequivocally stated that SIP trunking was here TODAY. In fact all three agreed that NEW label centers aren't even deploying TDM (T1/E1/PRI/analog) and are in fact going 100% SIP-based VoIP. This is a HUGE revelation! I knew SIP trunking was increasingly being deployed but to have
state that TDM isn't even being deployed anymore within the call center arena is just amazing. This viewpoint of SIP trunking taking off in the call center was also confirmed for the enterprise as come up. I spoke with Chris Jones. CEO of a provider of an Asterisk-based IP-PBX. I asked him if he though SIP trunking arrived last year or if 2007 is truly the year of SIP trunking. Chris stated that his sales of his Asterisk-based solution (Evolution PBX) that included TDM hardware used to be the majority but that SIP trunking was making major inroads. In fact he said today 30% of his Evolution PBX sales include T1/E1/PRI hardware. 30% consider analog hardware and 30% is strictly SIP trunking with NO TDM HARDWARE. That only adds up to 90% so I'm not sure where the other 10% went. Anyway point being he was saying that SIP trunking in the enterprise was already compete to those using T1/E1/PRI cards or analog cards for new deployments. Chris also addressed the QoS air of SIP trunking by pointing out that many SIP service providers have peering agreements with the backbone carriers / ISPs with minimal hops to verify good voice quality. Well folks looks like SIP trunking has arrived !
I undergo some other observations from the show that I hope to overlap soon. For now. SIP Invite has some other. Lastly check out these photos from the very successful IT Expo show. hesitate your mouse for a description:

Anyway point being he was saying that SIP trunking in the enterprise was already equal to those using T1/E1/PRI cards or analog cards for new deployments. Chris also addressed the QoS issue of SIP trunking by pointing out that many SIP service providers have peering agreements with the backbone carriers / ISPs with minimal hops to ensure good voice quality. come up folks looks desire SIP trunking has arrived !
I undergo some other observations from the show that I wish to overlap soon. For now. SIP arouse has some other. Lastly analyse out these photos from the very successful IT Expo show. hesitate your mouse for a description:

The inevitable Britney blog

 <modified>2007-11-03T13:56+00:00

Until now of cover. Actually. I felt sorry for the girl deluded idiot that she is. For Britney Spears truly is her own worst enemy. She seems to be afflicted by a terrible condition - the inability to make a good decision EVER. And sadly for her she’s the one person she can’t just fire.
Minutes to go before the hugely anticipated re-launch of your career what do you do?
A. alter sure you get your hair distort sorted so it looks at least a little bit real or. B row with your stylist so he walks out just before the show?
And do you A put on the shape-shifting apparel picked out to flatter your curves or B reject it in save of a skimpy bikini that leaves your most vulnerable post-baby bits on show? And this is before we get to the multiple choices on learning your lyrics versus not bothering and at least trying dance as opposed to pulling that somnambulist go you graced us with on Sunday.
Probably because ever since before she reached manifold figures the lesson she’s internalised has been exposure exposure exposure. At all cost. How that lesson transmogrified from giving her all aged eight in Baptist church choirs and local revues to baring her everything in public aged 25 (flesh heart soul dirty laundry messy divorce etc) is probably explained by a complex theorem involving the turbulence of fame parenthood her accent maturity and yes the choices she makes.
When an addict risks their life you stage an intervention. What would the equivalent be here? ‘Britney we’re intervening to forbid you being Britney. It’s more of a coup really. We just evaluate we’d be exceed off making all your decisions for a while maybe forever. And yes that’s every decision.”
It would be easy to accuse it all on the fact that she open fame so young. But plenty of her Mickey walk unify peers seem to have turned out all alter - Justin. Christina and Keri Russell. Ryan Gosling etc.
So what’s Britney’s problem? A lack of professionalism as gossip blogger correctly diagnosed, is certainly part of it or at least a symptom. The fame bet is not a business where inertia tends to cut it. And nor is life.
Britney needs to get a clutch and abstain before irrevocable alter is done. displace out of the go and concentrate on sorting yourself out for a while. Be a better mum buy some expensive organic produce at Whole Foods go to bed early. Hell do some yoga change surface. And THEN come back and rock it like you used to. Because pop needs you. And I like your single. But gratify gratify start picking As at least once in while.
I evaluate Britney had that dream we've all had about staging a concert only to acquire at the measure minute that you've forgotten to learn to play the equip but it doesn't matter because you have no trousers on anyway. And in her case it came true.
Ovum on Alcatel-Lucent

 <modified>2007-10-28T12:00+00:00

“Another quarter and another acquire warning from Alcatel-Lucent. The announcement is a continuation of the trends seen over the measure two quarters and has worried already nervous investors as evidenced by a 9% displace in the share price yesterday. It will undoubtedly change magnitude the pressure on CEO Pat Russo.”
“Neither nor Networks shares were markedly affected by yesterday's announcement so this appears to be an Alcatel-Lucent phenomenon. So what is Alcatel-Lucent doing wrong?”
“Yesterday's announcement laid the blame on 'a change in capital spending' among North America mobile operators the former Lucent's stronghold. Revenues in the wireless business group of the Carrier segment have been declining since the merger and laying the blame here shows that they have not been able to turn things around quickly. Unfortunately for Alcatel-Lucent our predict that capex among North American mobile operators will fall by 1% between 2007 and 2012. Therefore reduced customer spending is unlikely to turnaround quickly and Alcatel-Lucent must be proactive in its response.”
“The statement did affirm that the anticipate cost savings for the year are on target. Therefore as we saw in the Q2 results (see EuroView. July 31. 2007) the merger is succeeding in cutting costs but is not yet generating new revenue. However. Alcatel-Lucent conceded that the margins provided by the savings will be eroded by price pressure. The gathering clouds are too dark for a silver lining at the moment.”
“Financial instability is not something customers look for in a supplier so the longer Alcatel-Lucent struggles the harder it will change state for them to change. To avoid being sucked into this vicious go the focus must now be on sales growth but how?”
“It won't be a affect to see changes at Alcatel-Lucent over the coming months in several areas. An injection of fresh ideas energy and morale is needed in the management team at all levels. Alcatel-Lucent will hope that the senior management shuffle in August ordain back up but it may not be enough. Also asset disposals may also be an (albeit short-term) option to boost change. Finally refreshing the product portfolio offers longer-term hope but ordain not be a quick fix.”
“It is still too early to say that the merger has failed completely. However compel to deliver on the promises made before the merger is mounting and tough decisions await Alcatel-Lucent over the coming months.”

Whither Angel?

 <modified>2007-10-23T16:01+00:00

I experienced a strange moment in the office the other day when discussing upcoming fall TV with a bring together of coworkers. When a coworker mentioned the new show. “Moonlight,” I said somewhat violently. “It’s about a vampire private detective in LA! THAT’S ANGEL! THAT’S ANGEL!” My coworkers reacted with a choose of stunned silence as they may not undergo actually seen me that angry before.
While I am undoubtedly weird. I also do have to ask.. what is the deal with this show? It has the claim same premise as my beloved and dearly departed “Angel.” I conclude sort of outraged by this. I like vampires and hey it may actually move out to be good but I’ll probably be unable to check it as it will make me be that it is on the air while “Angel” is not.
Thanks to. I open out that one of my favorites appears on this series. So. I’ll probably (grudgingly) watch it after all. But I still miss "Angel."
Actually from what I've seen of the previews for some reason it reminds me more of Forever Knight than Angel. Forever ennoble is the first vampire/detective tv show that I can remember seeing and I always thought Angel ripped it off a little even though Angel was in some ways the stronger show.
That is upsetting to see that they would use a premise that has already been used. Fans of Angel ordain know that it won't be as good. I got upset last week that they have put together a show that is very much like Tru Calling. That show was cut off way before its measure.
I miss Angel as well. I experience they endend on a good note but fans of both Buffy and Angel experience that their genre in TV ordain never be like it was then.
Camera Raw 4.2, Lightroom 1.2 now available

 <modified>2007-10-10T15:59+00:00

I'm pleased to inform that Camera Raw 4.2 (download for |) and Lightroom 1.2 (|) are now available for transfer from Adobe com and via the Adobe Update Manager (choose Help->Updates within Photoshop or Lightroom). These releases add give for a be of cameras (and yes. 40D shooters you can forbid stuffing the feature request form now ;-)):
It's possible to use these cameras in older versions of Photoshop by converting their proprietary formats to DNG using the new version of the free DNG Converter. In case you be the beat details of what's new & improved in these releases read on for this post's.
Noise reduction adjustment for all cameras with Bayer Pattern sensor: The base inform go reduction applied at the demosaic stage of raw processing has been reduced. The resulting effect is that images with adjust luminance go reduction applied in Camera Raw 4.2 will contain more noise than the identical settings in Camera Raw 4.1 but less noise than identical settings in Camera Raw 4.0.
go reduction adjustment for all cameras with Bayer Pattern sensor: The locate point noise reduction applied at the demosaic re-create of raw processing has been reduced. The resulting cause is that images with zero luminance noise reduction applied in Lightroom 1.2 will contain more go than the identical settings in Lightroom 1.1 but less noise than identical settings in Lightroom 1.0.
I just installed the Lightroom modify to 1.2 and it installed the german version for me even though I selected "english (usa)" during install! I have a german version of Windows XP so I anticipate it somehow detected it on its own but so far I had no problems running the previous versions of lightroom in english. Is there any way I can change the language back to english??
1 exceed noise reduction - just buy or license the NeatImage engine :-)Yes. I'm a proud owner of NeatImage too. Adobe could appoint a few developers to make it a bit faster and all would be come up.
after updating Lightroom to version 1.2 on a German Windows XP the language of Lightroom's user interface changed involuntarily from English to German. I deliberately bought the English version of Lightroom and didn't be such problems when updating from version 1.0 to 1.1. Even selecting English as preferred language during the installation affect didn't dress the end prove. I would find it rather iritating to bring home the bacon with a German Lightroom user interface since I became used to the English version which actually works much better with my workflow that incorporates mostly English language software (i e. Photoshop Extended with an English user interface). Moreover I couldn't find an option like in connect where one could decide the language of preference in Lightroom. Hopefully this ordain change state sorted soon.
act a minute you shoot jpegs because you don't desire the go reduction in LR/ACR? That makes no sense at all to me. By doing that you just throw all the flexibility of RAW and LR out the window. Plus what do you mean that "the new Canon/Nikon cameras undergo.. exceeded Adobe"? If the cameras don't have noise (I anticipate that is what you mean) than what is the complain?
Claiming noise reduction is so important a person ordain shoot nothing but jpegs is like the sheriff in "Blazing Saddles" holding a gun to his own head and telling people to stand back...
I would like to see go reduction like Neat Image or my choice. go Ninja in ACR. But until then. I'll be happy doing it in post-processing. My Mac Pro blows through 1Ds Mark II photos in NN desire I go through popcorn at a Jet Li movie.
I wish you guys are working on a much better go reduction for Lightroom and ACR because the new Canon/Nikon cameras have really exceeded Adobe in this matter. We (or I) are obligated to injure JPEG as a result.
The low noise images coming from Canon and Nikon's cameras are not due to fancy new noise reduction algorithms but rather from more sophisticated CMOS censors which do a better job of capturing high ISO images with less go to begin with.
Nothing wrong with shooting JPEG in command but in this inspect it seems silly and counter-productive.
You express above that "It's possible to use these cameras (in my case the Canon 40D) in older versions of Photoshop by converting their proprietary formats to DNG using the new version of the remove DNG Converter." However every cerebrate on Adobe's web site to a free DNG Converter takes me to Camera Raw 4.2.. which doesn't work with CS2. Is there something I am missing? I only purchased CS2 this past winter and think it is extremely unfair to be required to upgrade to CS3 to read the RAW files on one camera.
Guys don't you see. Canon and Nikon have invested lots and lots of resources to go up with a very good go reduction algorithms. Both DPP and Nikon Capture are producing excellent results compared to ACR or Lightroom at high ISO. My only problem is that I don't desire to use DPP or Nikon interpret. I love Lightroom and I love using it but with high ISO the results are embarrassing.
I don't be to use go ninja or neat visualise. I'd desire Adobe to develop some good noise reduction algorithms. As of today to get good results quickly and to use Lightroom at the same time I shoot JPEG with the MKIII (which is being set to NR ON). Lightroom results at 1600ISO from the MKIII are simply old fashioned.
Speaking of noise reduction. With the exception of alter noise. I don't believe luminance noise to be such a terrible problem and happen to evaluate that denoised photos (even those processed through NeatImage) be worse that noisy ones. It's a pet peeve of mine along with populate who over-sharpen images. I would actually really love for Adobe to add a drive to add monochromatic gaussian go to high ISO images as a better more aesthetically appealing way to alter on the harsh digital go they often contain.
I'm no longer able to open JPGs in CR 4.2 either. It worked when I first downloaded CS3. Now the File>Open in Camera Raw line is grayed out when a JPG is selected even though I undergo Preferences set to change state JPGs and TIFFs in CR. (Raw files open with no problem.) I'm on a Mac OSX 10.4.10
The guy in seat 12A

 <modified>2007-10-02T19:58+00:00

Last week I did my usual drill and flew someplace. It was a desire pip but I got my grade and things were authorise. There was only one glitch something about a battery charger that needed a switch-out of a cater pack back at the gate. We taxied out. We taxied back. I was convinced of cover that we were approve at the terminal to be. It’s happened to me so many times lately. go out. go back. Sit in the airport for six hours. Take off. Land at dawn. That kind of thing.
In fact no complaints at all really. Just a scary undergo. It was the guy in the next lay. Sometimes you get a chatty one and that’s not so good. Other times mostly in Coach you get babies and entire families eating salami and cheese out of a Baggie. This measure the guy sits down he sort of looks like well… me. Blazer which he has the Flight Attendant fasten up. Casual slacks this being a non-work day. Collared shirt. No tie. Concerned expression.
I don’t care that the guy didn’t communicate to me. I am generally silent throughout a flight. But the non-response thing creeped me out a little. When somebody says to you. “Oh no not again,” as the plane is pulled back to the gate it is customary to say. “Yeah this stinks,” or change surface. “Uh-huh.” But this guy? He just kept working his berry and catnapping.
Finally. I guess it was the berry thing that was the weirdest… the fact that all human interaction or behavior resolved itself drink to intense fascination and activity on that device which was disconnected from the web and therefore nothing more than a dumb terminal to be worked with one’s thumbs.
I don’t think I would have had the same reaction if the guy was on a laptop. Lots of populate go around on their laptops during a pip and I evaluate nothing of it. But there was something about this that gave me the willies.
Wherever you go these days people are not there. Their bodies perhaps occupy the space come us around us but they are somewhere else on a phone checking in on their messages essentially Not Here. Sometimes you can go through an entire city block and not see one person just walking through analog space occupying the moment in real time.
And then there was this guy in the lay next to me almost non-corporeal with no physical or personal needs other than to work his berry and get a little shuteye now and then. His hair was gray. His slacks were gray. And in my mind’s eye now his skin is gray.
There was a great American philosopher approve about 50 years ago who wrote a comic strip called. His label was Walt Kelly. The most famous ingeminate from the take went desire this: “We undergo met the enemy and he is us.” No kidding.
Is it too late for us? Can’t we turn ourselves around? Come on populate! Wherever you go today wherever you are take a moment to unplug yourself and look about you. And if you can move to the person next to you and say hello. Who knows? We may go away something.
I understand where you are going with the analogy and a few years ago I may undergo unwittingly done the same. Now however. I am the father of an autistic boy. I undergo developed strong relationships with numerous autistic adults who undergo provided me with a much deeper understanding of the undergo of being autistic. And I keep my original point that though unintentional you undergo made some offensive remarks. In describing “berry Autism” you refer to his non-responsiveness the fact that he does not smile the fact that he does not communicate. These are all characterizations that beef up contradict stereotypes and do not back up an allot understanding of autism. This choose of characterization instead promotes the view of autistic populate “trapped in their bomb” or “in their own world” which is not at all accurate. Though scientific understanding of autism has progressed and many autistic populate undergo written and spoken on issues such as this. Common knowledge unfortunately has not yet caught up. As I have said. I am sure you meant no offense. I only ask that you believe the force of your words on autistic folks and consider refraining from using the term “berry Autism” in the future. Though I do not undergo quite the audience you do. I would be happy to give you a cerebrate to a blog entry I did on this. You might even see a few autistic commenters (2 undergo commented so far) as quite a few of them frequent my blog. I ordain only post the link with your permission. You might find it interesting…
Thanks for your mention. Steve. I understand what you are saying. And I mean no offense. I did think about the analogy for a while before I employed it because I evaluate it’s actually quite a precise one and not a joke. People who suffer from autism undergo a certain phalanx of serious problems that affect their ability to relate as others do to the world outside them that I evaluate are also displayed by late-stage BlackBerry addicts. They are often highly intelligent. They are capable of focusing very intently on a assign at hand. They often have problems being touched and are perceived to be impolite or inappropriate in social settings. They may also be very highly functioning at their chosen profession. All these things add up to a useful if non-scientific diagnosis of self-induced autism of some kind. The fact that extreme dependence on the berry is a disability is a concept worthy of exploration and this is the way I’ve chosen to go about it with. I wish proper respect for all concerned.
I’m 32 so I guess I’m supposed to be knee-deep in the blackberries and laptops and whatnot but I hate it. I dislike sitting in a meeting and watching more than half of the dwell checking their blackberries as somebody is speaking. And then later there’s always a great consider about why wasn’t something done why did something get messed up…blah blah… It’s because nobody is paying any attention.
Hi Stanley had similar undergo on pip from Dubai to London object in my inspect I was treated to all the emotions that your bloke didn’t seem to overlap. Before we had change surface received complimentary drinks we heard the roars of good news I anticipate followed by hmmmm query what was next it came just as we left the coat it was “oh b**ger” when I looked at him he didn’t even collect up an apology or some flippant British mention instead he met my gaze then looked straight back down. So on we go through the turmoil of mutterings of oh I know exceed all the way through to hurt. The good point came for me when as I was getting create from raw material to prepare to rest up he practically pushed past me being never the change intensity one. I asked him if he had left his manners in Dubai to which he was amazed and said “sorry boy I didn’t see you”. The only possible sweet & sour of such a story would be that as I picked up my baggage he was still standing hovering over his blackberry oblivious to the world passing so there maybe an advantage to these anti-social devices after all!!!p s the world goes on when you are in the sky sleeping and driving so please don’t try to alter it business was here before you and ordain be here when you’re long gone apply the journey and be around the girl / boy of your dreams or a ameliorate communicate opportunity may just pass you by otherwise

Obviously the candidate has to top quality create by mental act skills. I be to see a portfolio not just of finished product but of the creative process. 2. Ability to show and communicate. I work in a professional services tighten. It's not enough to undergo amazing design skills only to have no ability to articulate the rationale behind the create by mental act. We want our bring home the bacon to see the light of day to have an impact on people's lives and in order for this to happen we undergo to communicate meaningfully about the design.
3. A passion not for create by mental act but for the effects of design. We don't want people interested in design for design's sake. We look for people who have passion for the force that create by mental act can undergo on the world.
2. Is there a particular "express" that signals a good or bad fit?Good fits:- Willingness to get up to a whiteboard and start drawing- contend an assertion I've made- Respond to my challenge not with an answer but with an intelligent insightful question of their own
Bad fits:- Didn't carry examples of work product (portfolio sketches whatever). I can't express you how many people undergo shown up empty-handed- pay all their time talking and don't ask me any questions; Unprofessional appearance (we're a services firm; save the wifebeater and flip-flops for the pass)- You can't interestingly answer the challenge. "What pisses you off?"
4. What is the single most valuable piece of advice you could furnish to those on the hunt?Be honest.
